OM-D E-M1 Mark II + M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO:
Comparison with 35mm DSLR

MASSIVE DIFFERENCE

Interchangeable lens cameras are part of a system. A compact camera body is meaningless if the lenses remain large and heavy. The Olympus camera system is both compact and lightweight, providing you with the freedom to venture out and shoot anywhere.

POWERFUL IMAGE STABILISATIONALWAYS CLEAR AND SHARP AND VIBRANT. ALL HANDHELD

Our in-body image stabilization lets you shoot handheld by compensating for all camera movement. The result?
Crisp, clear, detailed images - even in low light. No tripod needed.

ALWAYS STABLE

Olympus's in-body image stabilisation (IS) system compensates for pitch, yaw, vertical/horizontal shifting, and camera roll. In addition, it boasts powerful video IS. And since it is built into the camera body, rather than the lens, you can enjoy its performance no matter what lens you use. When a 5-axis Sync IS compatible camera and lens are used together, image stabilisation is more powerful than ever before.

STABILITY FOR ALL LENSES

Unlike conventional DSLR camera systems, the Olympus interchangeable lens camera system has its image stabilisation (IS) system built into the camera body, providing beautifully stable images no matter what lens is used.
Sync IS, which delivers unprecedented camera shake compensation performance, is realised by combining the in-lens IS on compatible M.Zuiko PRO lenses with the in-body IS on compatible Olympus interchangeable lens cameras.

Image quality at the centre of the picture is similar for all three camera systems, but the resolution at the periphery of the image is the highest when taken with the OM-D or a 35mm full-frame system. This can be justified with the sharpness and detailing of the trees in the image.

PRECISION PERFECTION

Olympus Ix50 Manual Transmission

In order to achieve the precision levels required for producing lenses of Zuiko calibre, Olympus developed many of its own super-accurate lens element manufacturing and measuring technologies.

FLAWLESS ASSEMBLY

Lens elements are carefully assembled into a lens by skilled craftspeople. As not even the slightest misalignment can be overlooked, high-precision analytical equipment and computer programs are used along the way to verify proper positioning of the lens elements.
